In our school garden, something new is blooming — and it’s not just plants! It’s the bonds of solidarity that are growing roots and filling us with joy.

We are deeply grateful to the social cooperative enterprise “Treli Rodia” for their generous donation of aromatic plants: oregano, rosemary, mint, and sea fennel — little treasures of our land that bring not only fragrance but also a deeper promise: that communities which support each other can be reborn, thrive, and rewrite their stories with hope.

“Treli Rodia,” a cooperative that focuses on professional empowerment and self-sufficiency, has shown us that solidarity is not just a word. With open hands and even wider hearts, they stood beside a public school in a rural area — a school that, much like its surrounding community, faced harsh trials during last year’s floods brought by Storm Daniel.

Our students, who have experienced firsthand the overwhelming power of nature, now get to experience its healing strength as well. They are learning through action that restoration — not only of the land but also of relationships and faith in “togetherness” — requires seeds, care, patience, and solidarity. Just as “Treli Rodia” invests in people’s self-sufficiency, we invest in cultivating knowledge, companionship, and responsibility.

The donation of the plants beautifully complemented our ongoing school project “Exploring and Protecting the Biodiversity of Our Homeland,” which we are implementing with great dedication this academic year. Alongside getting their hands dirty, our students are planting values: care, mutual support, and perseverance.

In our school garden, the aromatic herbs are taking root and thriving — and alongside them, so is our hope that we can build communities that honor the earth, humanity, and the common good.

We warmly thank “Treli Rodia” for becoming much more than a sponsor: they have become fellow travelers on our journey of learning, restoration, and creativity.
